Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of children in our group.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
