The Child Center of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to bettering the lives of youngsters in our group.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 15,on the 15th of January,2024,on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
